Fourth Grade Sneak Preview November 3-7

As many of the students already know and some of the parents I am going to be out on maternity leave due to a medical condition until the first week in February. I will still continue to work closely with Sr. Antonia as she covers my medical leave. I will continue to my own lesson plans for her and she will follow the NYS curriculum! She is a wonderful teacher!

Looking at our week in

4th Grade

Week of November 3, 2014

Sr. Becky, Sr. Antonia, Sr. Arshia and Sr. Bonnie

ELA

This week in ELA we will be beginning our new unit on Colonial America. Students will begin to use the strategies of inferring as well as continue to fine tune their close reading skills. Now that I am out on Maternity leave Sr. Antonia will be taking over for my classes until I return. She is an excellent teacher and I will still be creating the lesson plans weekly for her and she will continue to follow along with engageny!

Science

This week we will continue our unit on plants. We will learn about photosynthesis and inshallah do some experiments.

If you have any questions/concerns you may reach me at arshia10@yahoo.com.

Math

I am so pleased with the end of module test score. Many students clearly have an understanding of numbers, and rounding. By far the test scores (for many students) are the highest I have had thus far. If this is any indication of how the students will do this year; I am super excited. This week they started working on measurement conversions. This is a very short unit, I am hoping to finish and test out by Friday. As always, I welcome you to contact me with any questions or concerns @ bonniemalley77@gmail.com.
