Dear WFA Families, As-salamu Alaikum /Greetings
We hope this post finds you well, Insha’Allah. The time has flown by and here comes our last month for this year. Please find in the attachment June Calendar with important dates. We are planning to have fun events to bring WFA families together. We hope you can join us to end this school year right.
June Upcoming Events:
Last School Morning Assembly/TWIST: Friday, June 12th 9:00am-9:15am
This will be our last TWIST Assembly for the year. Meeting Link can be found in students’ calendar.
School Drive By Parade at the ICR Parking Lot: Saturday, June 20th 11:00am-12:00pm
It’s been some time since we’ve seen each other and it goes without saying that we have missed seeing our students and WFA families! For this reason, we are excited to welcome Westfall Academy students to have the opportunity to see their teachers and staff members during a School Drive By Parade on Saturday June 20th 11:00am-12:00pm. It will be a time to reconnect, however brief, and begin providing closure for our students through final closing ceremonies for the 2019-2020 school year, all the while maintaining social distancing. Brighton Police and Rochester News are invited to be part of the celebration.
Teachers and staff members will be standing on the sidewalk of the ICR parking lot, allowing cars to drive through and say Salam/Hi from a safe distance. Students will be receiving goodie bags, little tokens of love and FREE Ice Cream. Graduates will be receiving their caps as well. Come prepared to cheer for teachers with posters as teachers will be there for you. Be creative!
As we enjoy our Drive By Parade, please adhere to these guidelines:
– Wear a mask
– Decorate your car, if possible, to add to the festive spirit of the day
– Make posters for teachers to share
– Only one car will drive by the entrance at a time. Goodie bags, gifts, and pictures will be taken at the ICR main door.
Please note that picking up student belongings, if any, will be on June 29th and June 30th. More details to come.
Virtual Moving-up TWIST Ceremony: Monday, June 22nd 12:00pm-12:45pm
Students Pre-K-5th Grade will be receiving TWIST Awards during a moving up ceremony. Parents are invited. Dress code: wear something fancy and colorful.
School Virtual Field Day: Wednesday, June 24th
Get ready to have fun games and competitions in a virtual Field Day.
Last Day of School for Students: Thursday June 25th normal school hours
This will be the last instructional day for students this year.
Virtual Graduation: Friday, June 26th 12:00pm-12:45pm
Bill Moehle, Brighton Supervisor will be our chief guest to celebrate our graduates. Program will include Quran recitation, farewell speeches by 5th grade students and more. Dress code: white collared shirt with long sleeves and dark color suit jackets for boys. Navy blue jumper with white collared shirt with long sleeves for girls. Hijab is preferred for 3rd grade girls and up. Graduates (Pre-KII,K,5th) wear graduation caps.
Last Day to Pick-up Students Materials: Tuesday June 30th
Parents can stop by school to pick up students’ belongings and materials, if any. Face masks and social distance of 6 feet is required.
